Abstract



Endobronchial or one lung anaesthesia is the term applied to the technique by which gases are deliberately excluded from the whole or part to one lung. It is employed in thoracic surgery for the following reasons:Correct positioning of the double lumen tube is the most important determinant for the safety of one lung ventilation cases. Any doubt in the position of the tube may be resolved by the use of fibre optic. bronchoscopy.Since these frugs also have a number of desirable properties (Permit use of higher insp ired oxygen concentration are repidly aliminated and have few negative Cardiovascualr effects at IMAC doses) hereby are statisf actor anaest hesics during one lung anaesthesia.
